From vocational training to micro-loan out of poverty
Youth empowerment is one of the many projects that Babu foundation has in the region with the aim to prepare the youth from vulnerable areas so they can find jobs.
We also work on sexual and reproductive health and rights for adolescent girls and boys, providing them with trustworthy information about sexual health and the physical and emotional changes they experience during puberty
Non-formal Education
Vocational training and apprenticeships, job-search skills and computer literacy
Income-generation Training
Teaching business and entrepreneurship, financing start-ups, providing seed capital and micro-loans
In the context of Uganda’s taboo cultures, Babu foundation strives to find creative ways to discuss sensitive topics, such as sex, birth control, healthy relationships, and early marriage, with adolescents in safe spaces.
We work in communities to raise awareness of the importance of gender equality and the benefits of education for girls. This means we also work with parents, boys, and men in encouraging them to support the girls in their families and local communities.
